Cotton Market Mixed Mostly Lower

Cotton futures are trading mostly lower at midday, save for Oct and Mar ’21. July cotton futures are down by triple digits adding some carry back into the market. July to Dec is still inverted, with a 0.85 cent premium for the front month. Weekly cotton export sales were up by 5% wk/wk and 42% above the same week in 18/19. China accounted for 92% of the old crop sales. WTD sales on The Seam through Wednesday are 4,394 bales at a wtd av price of 56.03 cents/lb. The Cotlook A index was 67.70 c/lb on June 25, after a 50 point drop. FSA raised the week’s AWP for cotton 73 points to 49.60 cents/lb. The week’s LDP was reduced to 2.4 cents.

Jul 20 Cotton is at 60.5, down 131 points,

Oct 20 Cotton is at 60.6, up 21 points

Dec 20 Cotton is at 59.65, down 5 points

Mar 21 Cotton is at 60.36, up 4 points
