Cotton Market Cautiously Higher

Cotton is trading steady to 42 points higher this morning, but only thin October has ventured far from the Tuesday close. Most cotton futures were down on Tuesday, closing with losses of 41 to 48 points. Nearby July, on the other hand, gained 52 points. First notice day for July futures is today. They expire July 9. Monday sales on the online cotton trading platform The Seam were 1,127 bales at an average gross price of 55.03 cents/lb. CmdtyView’s national average spot price for cotton was $0.5883/lb on June 22. The June 19 Cotlook A index was back up by 25 points to 68.45c/lb. The AWP for cotton for the week is 48.87 cents/lb. LDP is 3.13 cents through Thursday.
